Hey there!

I want to talk about the bobble stitch. This stitch is great for creating texture in a piece or creating a pattern, shape, or words on a piece without changing color. This stitch also has a flat backside meaning it would be a great stitch for a hat or garment since the texture is only on the right side of the piece. The bobble stitch is similar to the puff stitch except for it uses double crochet stitches together opposed to just collecting loops on the hook. I have a video tutorial for this stitch and the puff stitch in my YouTube channel.

This is a multiple of 4 plus 3. The turning chains do not count as stitches. The Bobble stitch is worked on the wrong side of the work using five double crochet stitches together.

Abbreviations:

Ch: Chain

Dc: Double Crochet

Sc: Single Crochet

First you will chain a multiple of 4 and add three.

Row 1: Starting in the fourth chain from the hook Dc into each chain across, turn.

Row 2: 2 Sc into the next two stitches (you can use a turning chain if you want. I do not typically use a turning chain for single crochets), [Bobble, 3 Sc into the next 3 stitches], end with 2 Sc, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3(does not count as stitch), Dc into each stitch across, turn.

Row 4: 4 Sc, [Bobble, 3 Sc into next 3 stitches], end with 4 Sc, turn.

Rep: Row 1-4 until desired size is reached.
